Nomie 6 support 3 different types of Storage Options for your data. Why? We Fundamentally believe that users should have full access to their data, and companies should not. Nomie has and as long as Brandon is at the helm, will always give users as many options as possible to manage their own data, while still providing a good user experience.

Switching between storage types

How to switch between the different storage types:

You can safely switch between different storage engines without losing any data, as each storage type is isolated and they do not share data.

Some items to note about storage switching

Nomie Cloud (paid)

Multiple device support with your data stored encrypted in the cloud, with the new Nomie 6 API.

Local/Device Only (free)

Your data will never leave your device. This is a great way to get started, but make sure you BACKUP often. Apple and Google might clear out your data if you’re device is running low on space.

CouchDB (free)

Nomie’s CouchDB Storage is powered by PouchDB - which lets you sync your data in near time with a CouchDB server.

If you’re technical enough to host and run a couchdb server, you can run Nomie on multiple devices on your own network. Note that CouchDB does not use encryption, and the data will be stored in readable JSON format. This might be added as a feature in the future depending on demand.
